Blank Media Collective is looking for friendly, committed and reliable additions to our team to undertake a variety of key roles within the organisation:
blankpages Fiction Editor
This role will involve reading and selecting fiction submissions for Blank Media’s monthly e-zine, blankpages. The Fiction Editor is encouraged to forge a relationship with each contributor, offering feedback and advise when necessary. The position gives the individual the opportunity to develop their awareness of contemporary fiction and build up contacts within the industry.
blankpages Visual Editor / Designer
This role will involve leading all visual content and design elements within Blank Media’s monthly e-zine, blankpages. The Visual Editor / Designer is required to compile all content within the e-zine and must have a strong understanding of design and the visual arts. The position gives the individual the opportunity to develop their awareness of contemporary arts and design and build up contacts within the industry.
Blank Media Marketing & PR Manager
The Marketing & PR Manager will lead and influence all Marketing and PR related duties on behalf of Blank Media. The candidate is encouraged to compile an extensive mailing and media list and have a good level of writing and communication skills. The position gives the individual the opportunity to develop their skills within Marketing and PR and build up contacts within the industry.
As well as the responsibilities involved within Blank Media, there are also great opportunities for socialising with the Blank Media team. The positions will give the selected individual further experience and useful contacts to use within their own practice and can be a valuable route to future employment.
Blank Media Collective promotes the practices of emerging artists, giving opportunities to creative people who may not usually get the chance to show work and enable these people to have a future within the arts. For further details please visit http://www.blankmediacollective.org.
blankpages is a monthly e-zine published by Blank Media Collective promoting the practices of creative writers and visual artists. The e-zine has been in circulation for 9 months and in it’s current state, 6 months. It has a good record of promoting upcoming creative individuals with a high standard of work. Each issue is available for free download from http://www.blankmediacollective.org.
Duration: 6 months (this will be extended depending upon performance)
Hours: up to 15 per week and able to attend at least 1 meeting per month
Location: must be based in Manchester / surrounding areas
Closing date: Monday 16 February
