Hi Lor, I agree with you 100%.

I am fortunate not to have gone to school nor Uni, putting in the hours to just be left at the way side, yes many do become rich and drive a nice car.

I would sooner just plod along and create what ever thoughts come my way.

Being an artist is not a choice for me, most of the time it is a chore, but what a chore.

I wouldn't be with out it now, my paintings are my babies and I will protect them as such.

I am the happiest I have ever been since I committed myself to my art, I wish I would have found it many years ago, but I guess I wasn't ready and committed enough.

This is a great idea.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. That's a rough one.

I would like to discuss the reality of being an artist. You know, for some of us, if we were as good at being a doctor or a lawyer as we are at the art, we would have a Mercedes in the garage too...(not that that is at all what is important in life, but eating is.) I find it very unfortuante that artists, who take so much time, study and passion and place it into something that certainly the world needs, are not often appreciated in an appropriate manner. To be an artist is not a choice. It is who we are. We are often misunderstood and certainly uncompensated. I consider being an artist to be a blessing and a curse. Yes? Yes, I think so.

I hope by starting this group it helps heal artists pains.

At points in our lives we all have trouble, be it losing a loved one, financial, marriage problems etc.

At these times our energy levels become weak, so I am calling artists to share with 'US' all your troubles and hopefully draw strength to each other.

Many of you know that I lost my partner 18 months ago in a bad accident.

At the time I could have gone to the doctors and asked him for medication, but I didn't.

I took out my paint brushes after 7 years of not painting and in 18 months I have painted over 200 paintings.

I won't lie and say I have great days every day, I don't.

But what I know is, there are two ways your moods can go, up or down.

I'm never down, life can give me her hardest challenge, I will always stand proud looking up, as my grandma taught me that.

She lost her son in the Korean War, they never found his body, now she had to keep it together with herself and family, so did many more mothers, wives, sisters etc.


I just want you to share your thoughts and lend an ear to the group.
